About Mammal Hands
Formed in 2012 in Norwich, England, Mammal Hands initially started as an electronic duo. However, with the addition of Jesse Barrett, they embarked on a new musical journey that combines jazz, contemporary classical music, electronic, folk, and minimalism. Drawing inspiration from shamanic traditions and Sirishkumar Manji’s tabla, the group created deep rhythmic and melodic foundations in their albums, positioning themselves not just as a jazz trio, but as an experimental music collective.
With albums like Animalia (2014), Floa (2016), Shadow Works (2017), Captured Spirits (2020), and Gift from the Trees (2023), the group has gained international success and performed at numerous prestigious venues around the world. Their music, with its eclectic style carrying traces of different cultures and time periods, transports listeners on a journey through time.
