Composer, pianist, arranger, and bandleader Nicole Zuraitis is one of the most prolific and compelling artists to follow in contemporary jazz today, with an approach that continues to expand the boundaries of vocal jazz.

Zuraitis won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album for How Love Begins (2023), a project created with Christian McBride. She became the first musician to receive this award for an album entirely written and arranged by herself. Her collaborations with drummer Dan Pugach, who will also join her for her Istanbul performance, along with their acclaimed reimagining of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” titled “Little Fears,” have established her as one of the most recognized voices in the contemporary jazz scene.

Continuing her activism alongside her musical work, Zuraitis’ 2025 concert album Live at Vic’s stands out as a powerful recording that highlights the potential of the musicians around her, particularly through its arrangements. The New York-based artist will perform at the 36th Akbank Jazz Festival on October 10 at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Platinum Stage.
