A defining figure in the history of jazz, Arturo Sandoval is a versatile composer and performer who masterfully blends Afro-Cuban music, jazz, and classical music traditions. A student of legendary trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie, Sandoval played a pivotal role in the transformation of Cuban music as a founding member of the groundbreaking group Irakere.

A 10-time Grammy Award-winning musician, Sandoval has built a remarkable career not only through his virtuosity on trumpet and flugelhorn, but also through his work as a composer and arranger, collaborating with a wide range of artists from Stevie Wonder and Frank Sinatra to Celia Cruz and Alicia Keys. Through his trumpet concertos, performances with symphony orchestras, and compositions for film projects, he has developed an interdisciplinary approach to music.

Described by the London Evening Star as “the kind of virtuoso who appears only once or twice in a generation,” Sandoval will perform at the 36th Akbank Jazz Festival on October 8 at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Platinum Stage.

It follows the gripping, surprise-filled journey of a writer in his forties, a secretary, and a secret police officer.

Girli will be at %100 Studio on October 9th!

As she enters her third album era, girli sets out her intentions clearly, embracing a raw and unfiltered sense of authenticity. Earlier this year, she began writing songs with the goal of completing an album within nine months, sharing the entire process with her fans along the way. Her third album, it’s just my opinion, set for release on 8 May 2026, is a fresh and cohesive project that reconnects girli with her musical roots. Having grown up in North London and absorbed the energetic, sharp-edged melodies of the indie sleaze era, she now channels that chaotic spontaneity into songs that echo the pulse of a live venue. Born Milly Toomey, girli also takes pride in building a long-lasting career in a music industry where definitions of success are constantly shifting.

In addition to her 2019 album Odd One Out and 2023’s Matriarchy, she has released multiple EPs and standalone singles. She has performed at major festivals including All Points East, Latitude Festival, Mighty Hoopla, SXSW and Mad Cool, and has toured extensively across Europe, North America, and Australia. Composer, pianist, arranger, and bandleader Nicole Zuraitis is one of the most prolific and compelling artists to follow in contemporary jazz today, with an approach that continues to expand the boundaries of vocal jazz.

Zuraitis won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album for How Love Begins (2023), a project created with Christian McBride. She became the first musician to receive this award for an album entirely written and arranged by herself. Her collaborations with drummer Dan Pugach, who will also join her for her Istanbul performance, along with their acclaimed reimagining of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” titled “Little Fears,” have established her as one of the most recognized voices in the contemporary jazz scene.

Continuing her activism alongside her musical work, Zuraitis’ 2025 concert album Live at Vic’s stands out as a powerful recording that highlights the potential of the musicians around her, particularly through its arrangements. The New York-based artist will perform at the 36th Akbank Jazz Festival on October 10 at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Platinum Stage.
