PSM Loves Summer by %100 Müzik: Moby on June 29 at Turkcell Stage!
Born as Richard Melville Hall in 1965 in Harlem, New York, Moby received his nickname just ten minutes after his birth, given by his father due to their family’s ancestral connection to Herman Melville. He began classical music training and studying music theory at the age of nine, and in the early 1980s he shaped his musical identity within the punk rock scene in and around New York.
His first single, “Go,” released in 1991, was named one of the greatest recordings of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. Since then, he has continued releasing albums, reaching over 20 million album sales worldwide.
In addition to his own work, Moby has produced and remixed for a diverse range of artists including David Bowie, Public Enemy, Ozzy Osbourne, The Beastie Boys, and Daft Punk. He also supports numerous non-profit organizations such as The Humane Society, Emily’s List, The ACLU, and The Institute for Music and Neurologic Function.
The artist is also the founder of Little Walnut, a company active in film and television production. Among its award-winning works are Moby Doc and Punk Rock Vegan Movie, while its first narrative feature film, “Tecie,” is planned for release in the summer of 2026.
