TANITA TIKARAM
The iconic voice behind “Twist In My Sobriety”: Tanita Tikaram comes to Zorlu PSM on December 1!
One of the most distinctive names in pop and folk music, Tanita Tikaram—the voice behind timeless hits such as “Twist In My Sobriety”—will meet music lovers at Zorlu PSM on December 1 as part of a Stagepass event. Known for her deep vocals, unique interpretation, and seamless genre-crossing style, the artist will perform both her classic songs and selections from her latest 2025 album, LIAR (Love Isn’t a Right).
Best known for legendary songs including “Twist In My Sobriety” and “Good Tradition,” English singer-songwriter Tanita Tikaram has carved out a musical language entirely her own, bridging pop and folk with remarkable authenticity. On the evening of December 1, she will take the stage at the Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage, presented by Stagepass.
Tikaram first rose to international prominence at the age of 18 with the release of her debut album Ancient Heart. The record quickly established her as one of the most original voices of her generation. Through songs that captured the independent spirit of the late 1980s and early 1990s, she challenged conventional perceptions of female musicians and stood out with her powerful artistry and commanding stage presence. Selling more than four million copies worldwide, Ancient Heart marked the beginning of a long and celebrated career.
She continued to expand her musical vision with albums such as The Sweet Keeper (1990), Lovers in the City (1995), and Closer to the People (2016). Across a career spanning nine studio albums, Tikaram has explored personal, emotional, and social themes with depth and nuance.
Released in 2025, her latest album, LIAR (Love Isn’t a Right), reconnects with the spirit of her early work while reflecting the perspective and experience she has gained over the years, resulting in a more refined, powerful, and direct form of storytelling.
