DEĞİŞİM / DÖNÜŞÜM

03 NOVEMBER - 04 NOVEMBER

The event is performed in Turkish. It is not suitable for audiences who do not speak Turkish.

A successful politician, a former lawyer struggling with addiction from his past, and secrets that come to light in a single day… The seemingly perfect marriage of Mine and Tarık is shaken to its core as the truths they have kept hidden emerge, leading to a devastating reckoning. Through two people caught between love, loyalty, power, addiction, and conscience, Change / Transformation explores the price of the human desire to change both the world and oneself, bringing it to the stage with razor-sharp humor and dizzying character shifts.

In 2025, Thomas Ostermeier, who directed Chekhov’s The Seagull starring Cate Blanchett at London’s Barbican Theatre, now directs a theatre production in Türkiye for the first time. One of the most influential and acclaimed directors in world theatre, Ostermeier’s staging of a play in Türkiye with a local cast and production team marks a historic moment for Turkish theatre.

Written by Maja Zade, the play made a major impact at Berlin’s Schaubühne. It brings Timuçin Esen back to the stage after 20 years, sharing the spotlight with award-winning theatre actress Funda Eryiğit. In this production, adapted into Turkish by Timuçin Esen, the two actors portray a total of 22 different characters, delivering an extraordinary showcase of acting.

Duration (excluding intermission): 120 minutes

Age Restriction: 13+
