With a 25-year career, British alternative rock band bôa will be at 100% Studio on February 19th!
British alt-rock band bôa made their debut in 1998 with “Duvet,” a breakout single that became the iconic soundtrack for the Japanese cult anime Serial Experiments Lain. Decades later, “Duvet” found new life on TikTok, captivating a fresh audience and amassing over 450 million streams on Spotify. This renewed interest inspired bôa to reunite in the studio for the first time in over 20 years, resulting in an exciting new album.
Released on October 18, Whiplash marks bôa’s long-awaited return. Packed with melody-driven narratives, the album draws on the band’s personal highs and lows, as well as the broader cultural turbulence of our times. During their 20-year hiatus, the band members explored different paths: vocalist Jasmine Rodgers studied zoology and released solo projects, bassist Alex Caird focused on painting and teaching music, and drummer Lee Sullivan immersed himself in family life while writing and producing music.
Now back together, bôa invites you to embark on a musical journey that bridges past and present. As their TikTok fans will attest, the band’s universal themes — pain, solitude, triumph — resonate across generations, proving that their music remains as relevant as ever.
