GET THE BLESSING

Get ready to celebrate International Jazz Day with Get The Blessing at Zorlu PSM! Continuing their production in jazz-rock genres, Bristol-based quartet Get the Blessing is coming to %100 Studio on the evening of April 30th!

Bristol-based four-piece Get The Blessing have forged a unique signature sound that defies easy classification, yet never loses sight of thumping tunes, monstrously infectious beats, or joyous collective spontaneity.

It was twenty years ago today (give or take a year or two) that the key ingredients of the award-winning, internationally touring, musical group were first gathered in Bristol, UK.

Since then, the recipe has been periodically tweaked and adapted, with unexpected spicings and unlikely additions, but the basic sofrito has remained constant: the rhythm section of Jim Barr (bass) and Clive Deamer (drums), and the horns of Jake McMurchie (saxophones) and Pete Judge (trumpet).

The musicians were originally drawn together through a shared appreciation of Ornette Coleman and keep the spirit of his ground-breaking free jazz alive, whilst never losing sight of thumping tunes, monstrously infectious beats, or joyous collective spontaneity. Practically a Bristol institution, they're still one of the most exciting live bands in the UK.
