GARANTİ BBVA GENÇ KONSERLERİ: GIRLS IN AIRPORTS + SELÛT

Garanti BBVA Genç Konserleri: Girls in Airports & Selût will take place on April 24 at %100 Studio, as part of PSM Loves2Gather!

Originating from Denmark and known for their immersive and transformative live performances, Girls in Airports is an original music collective whose instrumental sound moves freely between jazz, ambient, and folk traditions, while never fully belonging to any single genre. This distinctive sound is rooted in a long-standing collective production practice centered on curiosity, cultural openness, and the patient craft of making music together.

At the heart of the band lies a striking instrumentation: vintage keyboards, saxophone, and a rich palette of percussion inspired by rhythms from around the world. The warm, distinctive tone of Mathias Holm’s Wurlitzer, shaped through analog pedals, combines with Victor Dybbroe’s dynamic approach woven from global rhythms and textures, forming the living foundation of the music. Above this base, Martin Stender’s saxophone and compositions offer a spiritual narrative—at times calm and spacious, at other times energetic and open to improvisation.

Over more than a decade of touring across Europe and Asia, Girls in Airports has developed a rare language of collective creativity based on the bond within the group and their connection with the audience. Their concerts often feel less like a performance and more like a journey, inviting listeners to stay present and be drawn deeply into the music.

Recent collaborations include the Kvæði project with Teitur, in which they radically reinterpret traditional folk songs from the Faroe Islands, as well as a large-scale orchestral work with the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra. Their latest album, Imaginal, recorded in close collaboration with string trio Halvcirkel, further expands the band’s sonic universe and promises a unique and profound live experience.

Multidisciplinary artist Selût, who produces both music and visual illustrations, stands out with experimental stage designs that integrate her own visual world into her work. Blending ambient, acoustic, jazz, and world music with powerful vocals, Selût creates performances that exist at the intersection of sound and image.

On April 24, Selût will take the stage at %100 Studio ahead of Girls in Airports, featuring hologram and live tracking technologies. Having previously pushed the boundaries of her stage practice with a full-body live tracking performance at Zorlu PSM’s MIX Festival, the artist continues her production based in London while regularly traveling to Istanbul for projects and performances. Selût’s stage is shaped by a creative team composed predominantly of strong women, spanning the process from production to live performance.
