BİFO - TRACES OF ROMANTICISM
One of today's leading French conductors, Laurence Equilbey is widely admired for her open-minded artistic vision and mastery of classical and pre-romantic period repertoire as well as 19th-century music.
Following collaborations with Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Eric Ericson, Denise Ham, Colin Metters and Jorma Panula, Equilbey first gained prominence as the founder and music director of accentus, an award-winning chamber choir based in Paris. The guest soloist of BIPO is violinist Alena Baeva, described by the New York Classical Review as "a magnetic presence" and "a constantly fascinating sound technician." Baeva has worked with leading conductors including Gustavo Gimeno, Paavo Järvi, Marek Janowski, Vladimir Jurowski, Tomáš Netopil, and Riccardo Minasi, and she is considered one of the most exciting, versatile, charming, and captivating soloists on the world stage today.
