AFİFE – SPONSORED BY KIA
16 DECEMBER - 20 JANUARY
Afife will be performed with English surtitles on December 2-3 at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage.
Afife, Sponsored by Kia, in collaboration with Afife Tiyatro and Zorlu PSM, will be at the Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage throughout the new season!
"Afife is a beacon of light, a symbol that has inspired generations of theatre artists and courageous women, guiding them through dark times like a lighthouse. This is a contemporary interpretation of Afife's rebellion against a system that prohibited women from appearing on stage and being seen. Afife, who passionately longed to be on stage with her entire being, defied these prohibitions. Set in Istanbul under occupation, the play unfolds behind the scenes of a multicultural theatre troupe that considers its stage as its front line."
Duration: 120 minutes, no intermission.
The play Afife is inspired by the life story of Afife Jale and tells the tale of an imaginary theatre company.
