%100 METAL SUNAR: HAGGARD
100% Metal Proudly Presents: Haggard, the world's most crowded and comprehensive symphonic rock/metal band, at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage on Sunday, October 13, 2024!
One of the most listened metal bands in Turkey, Haggard was formed in Germany in 1989. Their 1997 debut album “And Thou Shalt Trust... The Seer”, with its classical and symphonic elements, immediately attracted attention and received full marks from important music magazines. After a three-year hiatus, the second album “Awaking the Centruies” was released with a full 21-piece line-up. With this album, Haggard became the first band not to use classical music as an influence but to fully combine it with rock / metal music. In their lyrics in English, German and Latin, they told the story of medieval Europe, important philosophers and thought movements with the words of the people of that period in a theatrical narrative. In 2001, their sold-out concert in Mexico as part of their very successful American tour was released by the band's record label. This DVD, titled “Awaking the Gods”, was a testament to the band's performance on stage. After a short hiatus of concerts, the band's much anticipated third studio album was released in 2004. This album, titled “Eppur Si Muove” (lit.: Planet Earth), was praised by the rock/metal press. The 16th century philosopher and mathematician Galileo's fight for faith and science against the Roman Catholic Church, and his determination to do so, were the lyrics of the album, and Haggard proved his unique place with the literary and historical quality of his lyrics as well as his music. In August 2008, he released the album Tales of Ithiria
, again featuring historical characters and stories.Haggard, one of the essential bands for classical and rock/metal music lovers, those who enjoy experimental and quality genres, and readers of fantastic literature and history, will present a special concert at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage as part of the 100% Metal Series on Sunday, October 13, 2024.
