The Glenn Miller Story
Filmed in 1953, the movie depicts the life of famous jazz composer, trombonist; big band leader and arranger Glenn Miller. Miller is portrayed by James Stewart, an important actor of his time. As a British immigrant, Miller’s extraordinary talents land him in the most famous orchestras of the swing period in the US. He composed some of his most influential works such as In the Mood, String of Pearls, and Long Tall Mama during these years. In addition to the important jazz legends that touched his life, we see the color and innovations Miller brought to jazz.
