Nominated for the 62nd Grammy Awards for "Best New Artist", Austin based psychedelic-funk-soul band Black Pumas are coming to Turkey for the first time on June 29th to perform at PSM Jazz Festival!
Producer and multi-instrumentalist Adrian Quesada and singer/songwriter Eric Burton built Black Pumas on cinematographic neo-soul and light psychedelia. The duo, which came out of their studio origins and performed staggering live performances, released their debut album in 2019. Grammy award-winner, Austin-based producer Quesada, known for his works with Grupo Fantasma and Brownout, met Burton who became the pulse of Austin's song/songwriter scene after leaving Los Angeles. Burton's dynamic and soulful vocals perfectly combined with the retro-funk and R&B flavored pieces that Quesada worked on, and the duo decided to get together under the name of Black Pumas in 2018. The group, who developed their music every week at Austin's C-Boys Heart & Soul Bar and the studio, signed to ATO Records and released their "Black Moon Rising" and "Fire" singles. The first productions of Black Pumas, which gained great momentum in a very short time, were so appreciated that the duo found itself as a candidate for the Grammy Awards. Black Pumas will perform in Turkey for the first time on June 29th, at the PSM Jazz Festival!
