22:45 She Past Away
The gloomiest form of dark-wave, post-punk and gothic themes will be in Studio for "Fabrika Night" on May 14th!
Ready for their first Istanbul gig after three years; One of the most striking names emerging from Turkey's alternative music scene She Past Away, Greek gothic-punk duo Selofan, and Athenian one-person project Tango Mangalore will be in Studio.
She Past Away
She Past Away is dark-wave with a reworked 80’s sound. Signature guitar sound of the post-punk era, combined with minimalist poetry in Turkish. Often an outburst of emotional anxiety through the nihilistic mind-frame, it is personal. It is broad, a wondering mind brave enough to question taboo and existence. She Past Away was formed in 2006 by guitarist and vocalist Volkan Caner and bass player İdris Akbulut. Playing in genres such as post-punk, darkwave, gothic rock and new wave, the band released its first EP called Kasvetli Kutlama in 2010. Having performed in festivals in and outside of Turkey, She Past Away has released two albums called Belirdi Gece (2012) and Narin Yalnızlık (2015). After İdris Akbulut quit in 2015, keyboard player Doruk Öztürkcan joined the band.
Selofan is based in Athens/Greece. Joanna and Dimitris record since 2011 their analog stories at home, their sound cannot be identified as they mix many different music genres and languages to express deep emotional, fatalistic music. They often use poetry in different languages and have a unique live power, being very theatrical in their shows. They played concerts and festivals around the world and belonged among the protagonists of Fabrika records.
Tango Mangalore is a one person project of a solo sailor from Athens, Greece that focuses on the obscure and bizarre folklore around the world of the Sea. Driven by maritime curiosities, the morbidity of the Sea itself and its numerous tales, the sailor narrates weird oceanic tales in a loosely based synthesizer music of a spooky, lonesome, dramatic, mutant, theatrical and often self sarcastic atmosphere with a touch of cynical black humor and naughty-cal romance since 2013 Tango Mangalore has been composing most of his music inside the cabins of vessels traveling around the Oceans in a small yet decent effort to face non-linear timelines combining genres like dark minimal synth, darkwave, decadent cabaret and noisy synth-punk with some occasional new romantic fixations to balance things up!
