Zorlu PSM will bring you together with Ed Harcourt, the English singer and songwriter, on December 15th 2016.
Ed Harcourt, who was born in Wimbledon in 1977, learned to play the piano at age 9 and released his first solo work in 2000 with the EP titled Maplewood on the Heavenly Records label. His solo album titled Here Be Monsters quickly followed the EP, rising to number 84 on the UK charts and being nominated for a Mercury Prize in 2001. Having gained critical acclaim with his cover of Brian Wilson's Still I Dream Of It, Harcourt went on to release his second album From Every Sphere in 2003 and his third album Strangers in 2004. "All of Your Days Will Be Blessed", "Watching the Sun Come Up", "This One's For You", "Born in the '70's" and "Loneliness" were some of the songs that were featured in these albums.
Starting a side project called Wild Boar in 2005, Harcourt also went on with his solo career and after releasing his fourth album The Beautiful Lie in 2006, he collaborated with French jazz trumpeter Erik Truffaz in his album Arkhangelsk and on stage. Although he said that he wanted to take a break from his solo career, the hiatus did not take very long and Harcourt returned with the EP called Russian Roulette in 2009 and his fifth studio album Lustre in 2010. He kept his productivity, releasing two more albums; Back Into the Woods on his manager Sean Adams' CCCLX in 2013 and Furnaces on August 2016.
Having shared the stage with Patti Smith in Meltdown Festival 2005 and throughout her 2014 tour, Ed Harcourt joined The Libertines on stage to play the piano on a couple of occasions, most notably Glastonbury Festival 2015, in which The Libertines were featured as a surprise guest. After the hiatus in 2007, he started writing songs for other musicians and proved his success in the field especially with Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Wanderlust, the album which was co-written and produced by Harcourt. He went on to write songs for many talented musicians including Marianne Faithful, Jamie Cullum, James Bay and Lisa Marie Presley.
On December 15th 2016, Zorlu PSM will feature Ed Harcourt, who is known with his solo career as well as his songwriting and collaborative work with other talented musicians.
