Active since 2007, Grup Ses have been performing from Belgium to the Netherlands, Portugal to Denmark and collecting Turkish songs and sounds from all over the world. Elektro Hafiz is a musician, born and raised in Istanbul, who has recently moved to Cologne, Germany. Already well recognized in Turkey, he can look back on 20 years as a professional musician. With his former band ‘Fairuz Derin Bulut’ he created and released three albums, which represent a milestone in the Anatolian psychedelic rock music of the 2nd generation in Turkey. Elektro Hafiz has shown and proven openness in various and sometimes contradicting music styles by mixing eastern instruments like the electric saz, darbuka and finger cymbals with different genres. He loves to play with contrasts and create new compositions from there.
Derya Yıldırım & Grup Şimşek
Derya Yildirim & Grup Şimşek are a fresh and modern super-quintet which performs an electrified and highly danceable collection of Turkish music. It combines Anatolian Folk and contemporary grooves, often infected by hints of Psychedelia, Jazz, Pop, and Funk. Led by Derya Yıldırım’s hypnotizing Saz and vocals, Grup Şimşek delivers their interpretation of Turkish jewels (by artists such as Selda Bağcan, Barış Manço, Özdemir Erdoğan), but also draw their originality from beautiful compositions and a fantastic ability in improvising. There is a gorgeous feeling of waving and regulations when you get to the universe of Derya Yildirim and Grup Simsek, just let yourself be hypnotized.
Osman Başaran aka kozmonotosman, offers to create examples of sophisticated Anatolian-pop funk and folk tunes with a hint of electronic and dance music. Starting his music career early in his childhood by learning to play the baglama, kozmonotosman delivers a sound that binds the traditional with house and techno which creates his unique taste in music.
