Miss Kittin: 00.30
Caroline Hervé, the French electronic musician who is mostly known with her pseudonym Miss Kittin, will be in #studio on November 26!
Born in Grenoble, a town in southeastern France, in a house full of tunes from Genesis, Supertramp, Miles Davis, Maria Callas, Pink Floyd and The Beatles, Hervé started to play the piano at a young age and became a professional DJ in 1995 after several years of ballet training. With Mike Dearborn, she played in various towns through France, as well as Moscow and Chicago, taking the name Miss Kittin after moving to Geneva in 1996. Her first album as Miss Kittin, which was also called The First Album, was a collaboration with French producer The Hacker and was regularly featured in the best albums of the decade lists, selling 50.000 copies worldwide despite not charting.
Having released her first solo album I Com in 2004 on the Astralwerks label, she went on to publish another two, BatBox and Two, on her own Nobody's Bizzness label, which she founded in 2004. Her live performance in Sónar Barcelona in 2006, to which Aphex Twin, Modeselektor, Boom Bip and The Hacker contributed, was featured in a live album. Miss Kittin became one of the most esteemed musicians of the electronic music scene with her ability to combine simple yet evocative lyrics with techno melodies, while maintaining her enigmatic persona with her surprising live performances.
Having worked with musicians such as Felix da Housecat and Golden Boy throughout her career, Miss Kittin released her latest album titled Calling From The Stars, which featured a cover of R.E.M.'s Everybody Hurts, in 2013. While sharing her admiration for artists such as Madonna, Rush, Prince, Stanley Kubrick, Depeche Mode, Kiss and David Bowie through liner notes, she became an artist to be admired in the electronic music scene with her iconic persona and unique musical style.
Zorlu PSM will host Miss Kittin, one of the most esteemed musicians of today's electronic music scene, in #studio on November 26!
