Saxophone player, singer, songwriter and producer from Istanbul, Korhan Futaci will be on stage at Touché on April 18.
Korhan Futacı and his friends create rich orchestral textures locked with organic bonds, they work like a high-conscious machine and transform Istanbul's distinctive chaos and madness into a colorful musical story.
He has been the head and a member of several bands and projects including Tamburada, Dandadadan, Kujo, Konstrukt and Kara Orkestra as well as many other contributions. After gained recognition for his lyrics, compositions and saxophone performance on Tamburada's album ‘Fantastik’, his audience grew with Dandadadan's album 'Sen Bana Birini Android’ which has made a big impact on Turkish local music scene.
Korhan Futacı and his friends made the opening act of Istanbul Bienal, performed several gigs in Europe including Antwerp KunstFest, Tubingen Schloss Cafe, Munich Unterfarhrt Jazz Club. He shared the stage with many international artists such as Konstruck, the free-jazz improvisation ensemble, Peter Brötzmann and Marshall Allen.
His debut album was released in 2010. He worked with Andy Jackson, who is known for his works with Pink Floyd and David Gilmour. His second album ‘Pavurya’ was released in 2012. Korhan Futacı gives extraterrestrial experience to his audience at his concerts, which turned into a different ritual.
