One of the biggest names of Belgian alternative music scene dEUS will be at Zorlu PSM Studio for the 20th year of their album The Ideal Crash with sponsorship of %100 Music!
Nothing is ever simple in the world of cult Belgian art-rockers dEUS. Yet as they march on into their 28th year of existence, they’re pausing to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Ideal Crash, the album that cemented their status as one of the most accomplished, inventive indie rock bands of a generation, and developed the shabby charm and raw edge of their early work that rightly drew so much acclaim and adoration. Alongside a full remastering and reissue of deluxe CD and vinyl boxsets, the band will also undertake a twenty-date spring tour, playing the record’s ten tracks in full to audiences in major cities all across Europe.
The first Belgian-based indie act ever to sign to a major international label, the improvisational Avant-grunge group dEUS was formed in Antwerp in 1991, dEUS began their career as strictly a cover band, but soon began performing new material, honing an irreverent, free-form live show drawing on influences ranging from folk and punk to jazz and prog-rock. With 7 albums released and sessions are already underway for album number eight – which is expected around the turn of next year – and with new guitarist Bruno de Groote thoroughly settled into his role it is, says Tom Barman, dEUS’ affable front man, “the perfect time to get the engine going again, to get the fucking machine back on the road! If there was one moment where we should celebrate an album and take it on tour, it’s this one. It was a very important record for us, it’s twenty years old, and it’ll set high standards for the new songs.”
