Bulutsuzluk Özlemi, the band that defined rock music in Turkey with a career that spans 30 years, will be at Zorlu PSM on May 25th with their performance titled "Yaşamaya Mecbursun" as a part of the Vestel #gururlayerli concerts in collaboration with Atlantis Yapım! As the band plays all the songs from their live album Yaşamaya Mecbursun (1995) in an acoustic set up, Drama Stage will feature yet another memorable night!
Currently consisting of Nejat Yavaşoğulları (vocal, guitar), Sina Koloğlu (keyboard), Akın Eldes (bass), Deniz Demiröz (solo guitar) and Gencay Kıymaz (drums); Bulutsuzluk Özlemi gave a definite answer to the ongoing debate regarding the possibility of making rock music with Turkish lyrics. They released a total of 7 studio and 5 live albums, establishing a loyal fanbase with concerts all around Turkey.
Having released their namesake album in 1986, Bulutsuzluk Özlemi made a flying start to their music career with songs such as Hezarfen Ahmet Çelebi, Güneye Giderken, Evinde Gitarın Var Mı? and Kütürdet Beni Rutubet. Uçtu Uçtu (1990) was another hit with its namesake song as well others such as Evet Evet, Şili'ye Özgürlük, Acil Demokrasi and Sözlerimi Geri Alamam, which enabled their reach to a much wider community around the country. As Güneşimden Kaç (1992), Yol (1998), Numara (2001), Felluce/Bağdat (2005) and Zamska (2009) followed respectively, the band continued to release big hits such as Boyalı Kuş, Mekanik Fanatik, Hasret, Yağmur, Bağdat Kafe, Bıktım Be and Yaşamaya Mecbursun, the song after which this performance is named. Achieving to add elements of their Anatolian experience to the Western melodies and rhythms of rock, Bulutsuzluk Özlemi also received critical acclaim with their lyrics that consisted of sociological, psychological, economic and political issues.
On May 25th, Vestel #gururlayerli concerts will host an esteemed band of Turkey's rock scene on a special night. Bulutsuzluk Özlemi "Yaşamaya Mecbursun" will be at Zorlu PSM!
